Submission Rules and Guidelines
1. Eligibility: Submissions are open to artists as specified by each exhibition’s criteria. Some exhibitions may be open to all, while others may be limited to specific groups (e.g. therapists, emerging artists, etc.). Please check the individual call-out for details.
2. Submission Fee: Submission fees vary depending on the exhibition and may be refundable or non-refundable. Please refer to the specific exhibition guidelines for details on fees and refund details.

Refund Policy
Submission fees are generally non-refundable, as they contribute to the administrative and curatorial costs of reviewing artwork. However, if an exhibition explicitly states that fees are refundable under certain conditions (e.g. eligibility-based refunds for niche calls), this will be clearly outlined in the exhibition's submission guidelines.
Refunds will only be issued in the event of:
-
Cancellation of the exhibition by Liberation Art Gallery
-
Ineligibility for a closed-call exhibition where a refund clause is stated
All refund requests must be submitted in writing within 14 days of payment.
3. Artwork Specifications: Submitted artworks must adhere to the following specifications:
- Artwork must be original and created by the submitting artist.
- Artwork must be in line with our theme, with an emphasis on art for well-being.
- All 2D artworks should be properly framed and ready for display.
- Sculptures and 3D artworks should be stable and safe for exhibition.
4. Submission Process: Artists are required to submit their artwork digitally, including high-quality images or descriptions. Detailed submission instructions are available on the gallery's website.
5. Curatorial Decision: Liberation Art Gallery reserves the right to accept or decline any artwork submission, subject to submission outlines. The decision of the curatorial team is final and not subject to appeal.
6. Ownership and Copyright: Artists retain ownership and copyright of their artworks. However, by submitting your work, you grant Liberation Art Gallery the right to photograph and share your artwork on social media and promotional materials in connection with the exhibition.
7. Sales and Commission: If an artwork is sold during the exhibition, Liberation Art Gallery will charge a commission fee, as specified in the Artist agreement and agreed with the Artist prior to exhibiting.
8. Delivery and Collection: Artists are responsible for the delivery and collection of their artworks to and from Liberation Art Gallery. Detailed instructions and timelines will be provided upon acceptance.
9. Liability: Whilst every effort will be made to ensure the safety and security of the artworks, Liberation Art Gallery is not liable for any damage, loss, or theft of the submitted artworks during the exhibition.
10. Cancellation: In the event that an artist wishes to withdraw their artwork from the exhibition after acceptance, they must notify Liberation Art Gallery in writing. Please note in this instance the submission fee will not be refunded.
11. Publicity and Promotion: Liberation Art Gallery will promote and share the exhibition and displayed artworks through their social media and networks to maximise promotion of Artists and sales of pieces and therefore expects the artist to also promote and share the social media posts and promotional materials produced, actively promoting the exhibition through their own networks and social media channels to maximise its success.
12. Customer Referral and Communication: The Artist acknowledges that any enquiries, communications, or contacts received from customers referred by or initiated through the Gallery shall be promptly and directly referred back to the Gallery for further handling.
The Artist shall not engage in independent negotiations or transactions with customers over pieces displayed in the exhibition or referred by the Gallery, without the explicit consent and involvement of the Gallery.
In the event that a Liberation Art Gallery customer expresses interest in purchasing or acquiring artwork directly from the Artist, the Artist shall inform the customer about the Gallery's role as the primary point of contact for all sales, negotiations, and transactions regarding pieces in the exhibition, including further works where the customer has been introduced to the artist via the gallery.
13. The Artist agrees to provide the Gallery with accurate and timely updates regarding any customer enquiries or communications received.
By submitting your work to Liberation Art Gallery, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to these rules and guidelines. For more information or clarifications, please contact the gallery's administration.
